Young Communist Party activists demanding Putin's removal from power were arrested at a sanctioned KPRF rally in Moscow… YouTube link |

Technically a murderous thug dictator cosplaying as a popularly elected autocrat wouldn't tolerate any ideology other than rabid nationalism with a veneer of Putin worship. Stalin was a dewy-eyed dreamer compared to Putin in that he honestly believed in some flavor of Bolshevism provided it centered on him. |

McKinstry, there is no nationalism in Russia. It is impossible in a country where a hundred and fifty nationalities and numerous religious denominations have peacefully coexisted for centuries. Take, for instance, the Kuban Cossack Choir's concert in Moscow this year. They sing Ukrainian folk songs—in Ukrainian. The Kuban Cossacks are Ukrainian Cossacks who were resettled to the Caucasus under Catherine the Great and granted autonomy there… Moscow has a Kyiv Railway Station, and there are monuments to Ukrainian writers and poets… Where is the nationalism? link John the OFM, they know history well and clearly see the achievements of communism—both in the example of the USSR and in that of China… |

France, Russia, the UK, the US, Germany, Spain, etc. – increasingly the 2020s are looking a lot like the 1920s. Let's just hope and pray that the 2030s don't resemble the 1930s. Thanks for posting Cuprum. |

A new "Great Depression" lies ahead… The danger of nuclear weapons still holds us all back from a world war… History, as we know, moves in a spiral. I hope that a new "Yalta Conference of 1945" will take place without a large-scale war. However, there is very little hope for this, as modern politicians—in my view—have universally degenerated. The art of diplomacy is dead. |
