Why "unique"? Because, as far as I am aware — and I have already reconstructed the Franchi, Ferrari and Borromeo regiments — this is the only regiment from the Duchy of Milan that did not wear a white uniform, at least during the sieges of Ivrea and Vercelli in 1704, where it suffered very heavy losses. The uniform itself is genuinely striking, and represents one of the last surviving examples of the old Spanish tradition of "coloured regiments".
