Not much of an AAR from a pair of games I ran recently, but a lot of pictures with some not so witty commentary:

"Also, you will notice some blue tokens – I have decided to use a rule in which a plane that climbs may only fire at same or higher TAL while one that dives may only fire at same or lower TAL."

How's that working out? I admit to not playing a number of air battles, but that seems reasonable.

I just wondered if granularity is such that a shooter could be in position mid-move, but not at the shooting. (If that just demonstrates my ignorance of the rules…)

It seems to work well – it actually prolongs the fight in some cases. One thing with CY6 is how quickly a plane can be destroyed. As I usually give two planes per player (or three if the historical formation called for such), losing a plane early can be a bummer. The turn is but a few seconds, so having the ability to shoot down when making a climb doesn't seem feasible. I like it thus far, and plan to keep using it for games I host.

Darryl,

Plan on running any fighter vs bomber scenarios?
Would love to see a couple of those.
Love your blog.

Drake – I do have some scenarios that include bombers – often the games I host feature fighters as they are more preferred by players – go figure. But I do have a Swiss scenario that features a dozen Heinkels moving across Swiss airspace.
