Courtesy of Deadhead, Le Caillou has been filling up with an extraordinary range of figures showing the Imperial Headquarters and household. Many of the vehicles are not commercially available as models so he has scratch built them. The figures are a mixture of Franznap, Hagen, Art Miniaturen, conversions and some 3D prints. There are still some stands to hide but it's coming together.

Nice, in picture 14 there are some foot troops with muskets wearing blue tunics and pants and Minerva style helmets with a crest on guard duty, what particular unit are they from? |

Engineers of the Imperial Guard. Some are Pompier-Sapeurs of firefighters to us. The Linear A range, clearing the bridge at Charleroi needed much conversion. Some donated heads for transplant onto greatcoated figures in metal. The odd looking green thing is an imperial bakery! Captured after Waterloo and now in our Royal Logistics Corps Museum.42nd Black Watch produced one of the wagons and many of the better cookery figures.All based on a well known artwork by Courcelle. Thanks for the answers, I have a dozen of these soldiers attributed to Stuart Asquith, I always thought they from the Third Empire I've never really bothered following it up, cheers! |

So often you do see Second Empire material confused with Napoleon's First Empire. The ambulance is a classic, still regularly seen. Napoleon III had a Second Empire, confusingly. But his downfall led to the Third Republic. |
