Thought I'd bring this up for discussion.
According to Gemini: "An AI agent differs from standard or traditional artificial intelligence primarily in its ability to act autonomously, pursue complex goals, and execute multi-step workflows rather than just responding to a single prompt."
In other words, a regular AI answers your questions. An AI agent can answer your email for you, following whatever rules you've given it.
Theoretically, an AI agent is acting under human direction. So at one end of the spectrum, you can think of an AI agent as simply being a helper. Or, if not given much guidance, it could be more like a loose cannon.
Should the use of AI agents be banned on TMP?
* If a member is simply using an AI agent to assist him in using TMP, that seems uncontroversial. On the other hand, if the AI agent is bombarding TMP with posts, provoking arguments, or posting reams of information, that would degrade TMP. I think it comes down to what it does, rather than what it is.
* Is a ban possible? Not clear if that can be done with the technology available to TMP. Or the human behind the AI agent could pass the test for it.
I'm open to your input and advice.
