Don't know about others, but when I think of bicycle troops, I picture them using roads for mobility. My dad (1/507/82) once said there were bicycles all over Normandy.
Mountain biking is a big deal where I live, so I found these photos interesting. Bicycle mounted Finnish Jaegers in the Summer of 1944 basically saying, "We don't need no stinkin' roads!"
