We have great angst underway right now abut AI. I did a thread about using AI to do research in the ACW ORs, specifically on Trevilian Station. One TMPer has posted that he finds my material very interesting. Several others are freaking out about it. TMP link So my question is, should I and should we as a community prioritize members who take an interest or find use in a topic or a board such as AI, or do we prioritize those who take offense? I HOPE we do not join the ranks of the hyper-sensitive or easily offended. |

Likes and dislikes are different things. They do not exist on a contrarian linear scale. |

Almost off topic, but not quite. We used to say at work, "It's takes an awful lot of attaboys to make up for one "awe s**t" |

AI is a tool. Like all tools it can be useful or not, depending on the job and the user. If you don't like AI, don't use it. I, for one, am NOT a fan of the AI videos swamping the internet as of late. But I often use AI for research as mentioned above. |

My question, however, is not about AI per se but about the nature of the TMP community. There have been other controversial topics and will be again, besides AI. Do we have a heckler's veto here? |
