I've been battling the urge to buy and as I came to the end of the month was glad I had. August is another month I rarely get anything painted but these 8 figures were just close enough that I could finish them off in time. I'm working out which projects need figures and how many to plan painting for the remainder of the year. Some need a dozen others need several dozen and a few don't need any. Many of the projects I already have the figures for but two or three will need a fair amount.

I placed what will probably be my last big order of the year. It arrived at the sorting center here in Colorado Springs, spent four days sitting around with its thumb in its navel, then went to Nashville. After Nashville, it went to Avondale, Arizona, then Phoenix, and finally back to my mailbox last Saturday, just when I was starting to think it might roll over into being a September delivery. So:
Purchased 46 figures
Painted 17 figures
Sold off 44 figures YTD
Purchased 149 figures
Painted 151 figures
Sold off 60 figures I'm +2 for the year as far as painting versus purchases. The sales are the main factor in reducing my lead mountain thus far. Grelber |

Not a bad month,I am working on finishing off a couple minor countries. So made an order to accomplish that goal. Need 2 generals and 6 artillerists more for one of them,just need to figure out how to accomplish that goal. Also need to get my painting in gear to finish the figures I have. Then to start painting the pile I have for the large army. Bought =126

August was sort of slow for painting, but I did manage to finish up a set of 92 20mm Vietcong. Otherwise, it's been a pretty good year for lead pile reduction. Bought: 75
Painted: 619
Sold: 506
Net: 1050 Massive lead pile reduction! So of course I had to order a host of Old Glory figures to beef if up. It will slip back to +600 for next month. I'm targeting +1000 for the year, so I need to get painting again. |
