It was a great show and has preserved so many great performances Which we can still enjoy thanks to YouTube, but I could care less about current music. Maybe younger people could enjoy it but they can watch all they want on YouTube and MTV. Back in the 80s I would have been all for it. But time has past and most of those great artist and musicians are either gone or approaching retirement. So I don't see the point. I can enjoy them on YouTube. |

My daughters have shown me that there is some good music by today's artists. But what is strange when you think about it, they both appreciate music from the 60s and 70s, and know the artists very well, and have from the time they were young. By contrast, when I was a kid in the 70s, I don't remember appreciating music from the 1920s. The 60s and 70s were an explosion of creativity that is unmatched in music history, in my opinion. |
