Now I have not contributed one single figure to this tableau, so I have no ethical problem in promoting it. Just for once let me beat Tango to it! There seems huge doubt re what actually transpired over there, but the Prussians were a comin', so any defense (however you spell it) makes sense. Until you walk down by that depression around Smohain (modern, La Marache) you would have no idea just how impassible it is today, let alone 200 years ago.
