Who makes them in 28mm?
The 1839-42 war.
Plus Afghan Regulars of the appropriate date. I suppose I'll also need a doddering senile Elphinstone too. |

We still have some sets of "The Last Stand of the 44th" that Chris Ferree sculpted and the late Richard Houston sold years ago. These figures are individually modeled to match their counterparts in the famous painting and were rather "beefy" for their time and ostensible "25mm" size. If you (or anyone else) are curious, John, drop me a PM and I'll provide some photos and details. If nothing else, single figures (all wearing battered uniforms and such furs as they could scrounge) could be mixed in with other companies' castings to give an especially "lived in" look to units in the First Afghan War. Empress' GAPS range is definitely the way to go, per glengarry6's link. If you want some variety, the British Auxiliary Legion infantry in the Perry's Carlist Wars range will also work if you do a quick mod on the shako plate and plume. link |

I have a mix of Bicorne and Iron Duke (now empress ) -they go together nicely. Preference? Mostly it's the Bicorne range, but there are some great vignette bits in the Empress range, plus that has the field officers that are missing from Bicorne range. |

Studio Miniatures also has a range of 1st Afghan War miniatures. I have several and they are beautiful figures. |
