My google-fu is coming up empty (keeps giving me info on manufacturng and the weapon itself – not the organization). Does anyone know if any of Soviet dedicated SMG companies ever served in Finland during the Continuation War?
I kind of doubt it, unless during the Tali-Ihantala battles. |

I don't see why they wouldn't have as Regimental SMG companies were authorised for every Rifle Regiment from 1942 onwards. |

I think the first Red Army Shtat (WE/TO table) it appears on is for the December 1941 Rifle Regiment (ref 04/751), with an SMG Company of 100 all ranks, with a HQ and three Platoons of 1 officer and 30 men apiece. Gary |

Google AI states Soviet SMG companies were used in 1944 during Continuation War, especially during Vyborg+Tali-Ihantala offensives.
Know in ASL they show up a lot in many late war scenarios on Eastern Front. |
