Donnington Castle – a quick scratch-build project

John lent me his gatehouse to use as Donnington Castle in our upcoming refight of the Second Battle of Newbury. While perfect for some skirmish gaming, it made my table look like the castle grounds rather than a battlefield. So, lacking anything like a castle and little time, a quick scratch-build was the only option.

Well done quick build

Nice use of AI to get the wall texture

I used to be a huge fan of full sheet label paper for custom printing labels, but I remember how the glue eventually dries out, and the paper separates from the object it was adhered to. I began using standard 20# copy/printer paper, brushing on PVA Glue, thinly(!), and burnishing it down.

date, none of my full sheet label textures have separated, but they're only around 10 years old. I expect that when/if they do separate after the glue hardens and dries out, I should be able to paint on some PVA Glue and permanently attach them.

Superb model, superb building techniques, and the finished product speaks for itself! Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
