Greeting fellow gamers,
It is that time again, for the newsletter to go out. We are in full Autumn Wars/War Chest prep mode. Be sure to go to the Tabletop Events site and get your badger and submit your events. This is also the spot for getting your Warchest tables reserved. I also wanted to let everyone know that all, who come to the con are eligible for the door prize drawing which will be held, Saturday night at 9:00 PM. Thanks again to the great folks at Iwata for their support. We will have HMGS-Midwest merchandise on sale for those who still did not get theirs. Some items are running out, so get there early.
We do have a call for volunteers. The entire BOD will be there working, but we could really use some extra help, especially for set-up and tear down. Finally the info is up for our FOW Liberation of Italy Tournament, be sure to sign up now.
The mid term election results are posted. Congratulations to Tom, Peter and Chris on their re-elections. Thank you to all who participated.
Upcoming events include the History Lecture Series at Cantigny, this month is an in-depth look at Patton and the 1st Infantry Division in World War II. Next up will be the Military History Weekend in Lockport, IL. This is always a great event will so much to see and do, 2 days is not enough. Then will be the Chicago Toy Soldier Show in Schaumburg. A great chance to pick up some unique finds or just relive some childhood memories. HMGS-Midwest will be supporting both of these shows.
Also is an announcement for the 51st Annual Military Miniature Society of Illinois' show. They will have a "Miniature Gaming" category so get your best units ready and submit them. Next is another reminder to help support our partner museum "The Chicagoland Veterans' Campus" lets help keep history alive.
