I'm thinking of having shields not just be on a chart, but actually use a clear plastic *something* perhaps even tinted to place next to a model to show that it's sci-fi shields are up.

I'm thinking of both spaceship and flying tank models.

In my mind, I'm pondering a semi-circle of clear plastic, perhaps tinted in various colors to show strength of shield.

Nothing at the local dollar store comes to mind, but perhaps I was looking in the wrong aisle?

Ideas welcomed!

Disposable party supply aisle may have useful things, like a transparent bowl that would fit over a ship.

A party supply store may have good options for not much more than a dollar store.

Maybe a plastic ring?

Etsy is your best bet, if you want some cool shield markers. Look for Infinity hacking markers etc. Star Wars Legion shield markers is another one to look for. Might not be "cheap" though, depending on your definition of cheap. There's plenty of ideas there though.

A very cheap option: the plastic lid of food tub. You can cut out the middle and keep the ring. You could cut the ring into arcs.
