I've kicked off playtesting the first of a clutch of scenarios which I'm hoping to foist upon an unsuspecting magazine editor in due course.

The game pleasingly unfolded in a manner remarkably similar to the historical action, despite the Thai commander possessing not the slightest knowledge of the battle he was refighting. In a splendid display of accidental authenticity, his cavalry proved completely ineffectual and ended up beating a hasty retreat! He however had better luck with the infantry battalions afforded him. Unlike their real life counterparts, they actually managed to reach the wire. But the history again reasserted itself, with the Cambodian garrison manging to repulse not one but two successive assaults at close quarters, sending the attackers packing before the French relief force could make their presence known.

What a fabulous looking game. What rules did you use?
