…would we know you were a miniature wargamer?

The Nigerian Lead Minister01 Aug 2026 1:56 p.m. PST

Not unless I'm heading a minis event and the motor car is loaded up.

The GPS has 'game store' and 'craft store' as Home and Work.

Almost aleays not, but I do have a copy of WSS in the car that I have not taken out yet.

PK Guy Brent01 Aug 2026 4:20 p.m. PST

No

Col Durnford Supporting Member of TMP01 Aug 2026 5:00 p.m. PST

No as well. No bumper stickers ever and very little visible inside the car.

Saxondog01 Aug 2026 5:24 p.m. PST

Full of game stuff right now. Minis and board games…probably 15 cubic feet of stuff right now. That, however; is the exception. Rarely anything in there unless I left my attache case in there.

jfleisher01 Aug 2026 5:36 p.m. PST

It might be a little obvious,,,

jfleisher Love the plate on the Mustang.

My car is not obvious unless you get into the tub in the back of the truck. I have the emergency dice and tape measures in there.

Dave Crowell01 Aug 2026 8:05 p.m. PST

Yes, I have a 15mm figure in my cup holder and a few dice scattered about the car as well.

Often various rulebooks, etc too

OSCS7401 Aug 2026 8:23 p.m. PST

jfleisher what a ogre!

I keep nothing in or on my car to ID me.

Personal logo Grelber Supporting Member of TMP01 Aug 2026 10:24 p.m. PST

Once in a while. When I make long solo trips, a figure or two will sometimes go in front of the speedometer for me to look at. They usually go back in their box when I stop for a meal.

The Last Conformist01 Aug 2026 10:37 p.m. PST

Even if you catch me on the way to a minis games event, the figures and paraphernalia are normally in bags you'd have to open to tell what they contain.

I've always preferred cavalry to other arms in wargaming and I drive a souped up sports car so does that count?

14Bore Supporting Member of TMP02 Aug 2026 3:43 a.m. PST

I doubt that has any bearing on the hobby

Don't have one, so no.

Col Durnford Supporting Member of TMP02 Aug 2026 7:58 a.m. PST

An old friend kept all his D&D stuff in the backseat of his car. After returning from a mountain hike, the car had been broken into and it was all gone.

That was a good 40+ years ago and thing have not gotten better.

bobspruster Supporting Member of TMP02 Aug 2026 9:00 a.m. PST

Nope. Is Bill thinking about TMP bumper stickers?

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP02 Aug 2026 9:03 a.m. PST

A miniatures gamer, no. But the faded "Cthulhu for President: Don't Settle for the Lesser Evil" bumper sticker might suggest a certain related weirdness.

Martin Rapier02 Aug 2026 9:22 a.m. PST

I very much doubt it. Do wargamers drive a specific kind of car?

Oberlindes Sol LIC Supporting Member of TMP02 Aug 2026 10:46 a.m. PST

One of our cars has a Miskatonic University Alumni Association license plate holder, but otherwise, no.

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP02 Aug 2026 12:40 p.m. PST

Ah! I forgot the MU license plate holders.

Sergeant Paper02 Aug 2026 11:38 p.m. PST

No, but you'd know I work around construction and might work out than I'm an archaeologist…easier at the moment, everything's on the back seat…

Personal logo Choctaw Supporting Member of TMP03 Aug 2026 6:59 a.m. PST

I drive a Ford F-250 with mesquite branches hanging out of the grill guard. It's doubtful I would be recognized as a gamer.

Royston Papworth03 Aug 2026 9:51 a.m. PST

@jfleisher, very nice – 2.3 ecoboost?

Love the colour, it's similar to my S197.
