You know what happens when you eat a mermaid's flesh?

According the Mermaid's Forest by Rumiko Takahashi, you either die immediately, turn into a monster or become immortal. Do you want to take the risk?

Is it too late for the "There's something fishy about that ramen!" joke?

Inmortal is not that bad… (smile)

One out of three -- and you eventually die anyway, so modify that result -- but the catch is, what sort of immortal? A monster? Or a mermaid's boy toy?

I am reminded of WC Fields' explanation of why he never put water in his whisky: 'Fish fornicate in it!'

Which might also be a good reason not to consume mermaid-infested ramen…

What was the song the sirens sang?

I would think that mermaids, who live in the ocean, with an average surface temperature of about 68F, would find the water in a bowl of ramen far too hot (poured at about 180F), but they seem to be OK.
