Which is today,

Big in Cuba. The anniversary of the attack on the Moncada barracks. Incredible that the surviving attackers were spared and sent into exile (Like Mick Collins et al in 1916).

Their response was the Granma and the guerilla war, but they won and entered Santa Clara and Havana on AFVs languishing in my attic. They all had that date on their left upper arm. I even have that Argie type with a black sling for his broken arm somewhere up there. That photographer did him a huge favour a bit later. We would not have T shirts of him 20lbs heavier and with much shorter hair now.

Hasta La Victoria Siempre. Patria O Muerte Venceremos. 1970s we all believed it.

Weren't they imprisoned (after conviction at trial) and released in a general amnesty after a couple of years?
