Why a ghost? Because this regiment appears to be entirely absent not only from the order of battle for Turin in 1706, but also from the records of the siege itself. Nor is that all: there is no mention of it in Flags and Uniforms of the French Infantry under Louis XIV, 1666–1714 by Robert Hall and Giancarlo Boeri. A complete ghost, then. After considerable effort, both in terms of research and interpretation, I am rather pleased to have brought this regiment—destroyed at the Battle of Turin in 1706—back to life from the dust of oblivion.

I also added the Scenario because the defence of the farmstead by this regiment and the following attack of the Piedmontese , could be a very interesting (and unique) scenario |

I like the concept of using logistics to support the uniform distinctions. In one logistics class I took, we played a game of allocating funds where the object was to bring a new weapon system online, make sure we had spare parts to support it at every point in its service life, and have a minimal number of spare parts still in stock when it was retired. That's what these people were trying to accomplish 325 years ago. Grelber |

Summarizing the comcepts, we could say that logic fills the gaps in the documentary evidences. I think that it is better to go close to the truth (or even to center the truth) than to let gaps that will never be filled, otherwise. At least this regiment lives and shines |
