Found it at a used book store – binged read in a couple of days while traveling. Very moving – one coud almost say a tearjerker. Well worth it.

Kershaw has written some very good WWII history.

Had it for years but the first couple of chapters were hard going, very dry, but then … wow … wonderful!!

FYI, Bedford, Va is the home of the National D-Day Memorial. For those who have never been there, it is well worth the trip. One of the best WW2 memorials in the U.S.

It is out of the way, but if you are traveling up the Shenandoah Valley it is a must side trip!
