I was VERY invested in Game of Thrones. I had read all 5 books while waiting for Season 2. Sure, there were slight "changes", which I thought were fine. Arya vs Tywin? Hell yes! Better than Arya vs Roose at Harrenhall.
But… slowly, Dd ran out of settled lore. BecauseMartin had better things to do. Like going to ComiCon, so Natalie Dormer could sit on his fat lap. Can't blame him.
So, Seasons 6, 7 and 8 went off the rails.
House of the Dragon had a fantastic King Viserys, in Paddy Considine. Then… Oh, well. Season 2 degenerated into, as Critical Drinker said "Miserable people looking at maps and doing bad things."
TBH, I haven't watched anything in the 2nd Season. Yet. Episode 5 is tomorrow. 🤷
More out of a sense of "Fine. I'm sort of invested" than anything else, I started to watch "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms". 😄 It's great!
No "grey" characters! Good Guys! A Bad Guy!
Peter Claffey is a very good Ser Duncan. (Although, I am suspecting that he was never knighted…)
Dexter is a fantastic "little kid" as Egg.
And the rest of the cast is right out of the book. And Tanselle is … adorable!
