As of July 8 the US now requires a C of C for every product in the "toys and hobbies" tariff category to be provided if it is to be imported. The C of C is not a "blanket" document. You need one for every individual item even if, honestly considered, they are all "the same." If you want to import tanks, you need one for the Sherman with the cast hull, one for the Sherman with the welded hull, one for the 75, one for the 76, one for the Firefly. For most manufacturers that is *thousands* of products. And you need to register each and every one to import them here to the US. This registration also requires a photo "in the packaging." So not a shot of the minis, but a picture of the zip bag, clamshell or retail box. Many smaller makers simply don't have those kinds of photos. If this holds, it means I will have no choice but to close ScaleCreep.com It also means US customers will not be able to order products from the UK – the C of C is required whether you import one Sherman or a hundred. If anyone out there works in the industry and can shed light on a legal workaround, I'm all ears. |

Call both of your senators and your congressman. Something tells me that this application of the law is not an intended process of the law, nor an intended result. It sounds needlessly and suspiciously excessive— like some mid-level bureaucrats have stepped over their bounds, either out of feelings of power or to deliberately create political division. |

This reminds me of the hassle Brexit caused about importing and exporting goods which killed off the Crisis show in Antwerp as a well attended by Brits show. Crisis has now been re-born but without significant British attendance. |

Need someone with a paygrade beyond any I ever had. I will say testing appears unnecessary for 13+ items, so just insane paperwork. Have you had a chinwag with the folks at Brigade Models? My reps show no interest in what I have to say, but I will see about some msgs. Doug |
