I had assumed that a dead buffalo would be lying on its side and butchered that way. Yes, sometimes, but extensive research (me asking Grok and getting the answer 8 seconds later) reveals that the preferred position was on its belly, upright, so the skinning could start along the backbone and strip both sides quickly. That also allowed twice as many women to be butchering if that many hands and knives were available. If the animal had to be levered up from its side, the lance used to do that could also be stuck in the ground as a support.

Well all right! A dead bison not yet opened is simply a model (3d resin printed) with legs removed, belly down on a base, with a lance shaft holding it up. ()That let's the women know whose kill it is, too.)

Now what about half butchered? Well the head would be off so they can use the brains and get the tongue, so what is left is red goo plus white ribs. Easily modeled, and I am thinking skeleton mammoths in 15mm (Splintered Light) or maybe just small claw-type hair clips.

Booyahh!!
