Additionally they also added a White House UFO/UAP advisory team led by Harvard Astronomer Avi Loeb of recent that Comet must be a spaceship fame…

Brings to mind – How will we actually meet alien wargamers?

As a Benevolent Helpful Guardian to teach us?
As they come to conquer?
Perhaps a ship that is curious about our blue marble and how we game?

How do you think we will meet the other wargamers of the universe?

Murrey Leinster's short story First Contact in 1945 looked at the problem through the lens of "we could kill each other, but should we? And how do we avoid it."

I read a Soviet SF story that was written in response, which basically assumed that space faring civilisations were all Communist so didn't take any of the convoluted precautions of the Leinster story. If this turns out to be true, then the aliens are going to be in for a _big_ surprise!

I like the premise of the Osprey rules "A Billion Suns". Basically the aliens turn up, we beat the crap out of them and steal their FTL tech. No time for wargaming as we were doing it for real……
