I keep getting messages (emails & facebook) about a group called Perry's fanboys – which displays itself as being all about those painting, collecting and wargaming with Perry's miniatures. I just wondered if anyone knew anything about it, is a member or if it is fake?

Never heard of them.
But they are one of a dozen or more manufacturers whose wares have found their way into my collection. Some are very well done. Like the Volunteers of Ireland, and Lord Dunmore's Ethiopians.
Others, like the one piece castings of militia cavalry were a total pain in the ass. It took me hours to clean them. I hope the fanboys don't brag about THOSE particular castings.

Could see how there could be!

"Perry Miniatures fanboys" is a real Facebook site, if that is what you are referring to.

I get postings from the Facebook page – not very often though. People posting their own work.

I'm always joking about their business plan.
"Hey! Nobody makes miniatures for the Carlist Wars!"
"Oh? Here. Hold my beers."

The Facebook group is real. I'm in it and I find it interesting, at least for painting inspiration.

I'm a member. Fun page if you like Perry Miniatures

Thanks everyone. That's good to know. I don't really do the websites stuff but I guess I'll have to pop in and have a look, being a 'fan' myself of Perry's miniatures! LOL

Many of the manufacturers you know have pages where they post new releases and promotional stuff. Many of those same names have an adjacent fan-run page where people can post pics of their stuff and talk about the company's wares.

It is a real group.
As the founder buys everything the Perrys create, some of us started to name him fanboy :-)
