In this case the US presidnet uses his influence on the president of the FIFA to change a verdict (red card) on an US player. The Belgian team has been harmed with this change of verdict. |

Should they? NO! On the other hand some of them stick more than THEIR noses where they do not belong – both sides. H |

No. If the usa do well any win will be tainted by the cheating. Not that I suppose that would worry the usa team much. If they had any Self respect they wouldn't play him in the next game. Fat chance. |

Yes -- the ability to reverse unfair decisions based on evidence is positive for football. |

The question covers a lot of ground. Theodore Roosevelt threatened to ban (American) football unless it was modified to reduce the rate of injury and death. Should he not have been allowed to influence sports events? How about insisting that biological males a head taller than the other players be permitted to play on women's teams? If you mean "should officials stick to their guns when local bigwigs question a decision?" my answer is yes the officials should stand firm. You say one didn't. Why not? Of course, I used to attend a lot of high school sporting events. There was a strong feeling that not all officials were sharp-eyed models of integrity. |

Here's a fascinating appearance by William the Prince of Wales on the Kelce Brothers' "New Heights" podcast. Note how Travis (heard of him? He's a newlywed with a cute wife) is completely oblivious to the proper protocol when addressing a Royal. 😄 Note also how William so politely corrects Jason. "First of all, Jason, I have to correct you. It's called FOOTBALL." Seems like a good chap to have a beer with. YouTube link |
