I obtained this new title as a Father's Day present suggestion. Costly, compared to some books but it is definitely a great buy. It is a book to relax with. Not a lot of text but you can look through it in one go or do what I'm doing, pop in to view the great full page images, all in colour, many of which I've not seen before, as a relaxing break in between reading heavier titles. |

Not that I know of but I don't think anyone will be disappointed with obtaining this title. As a warning though, it may well 'make' you want to obtain more books on the period, as it has done with me. LOL |

Annoyingly, the book has also ignited, beside the earlier French versus Spainish campaigns, my interest in the War in the Vendee. So that's more books, miniatures etc that I'll be looking for. Not sure I'm happy I got the title now! |

Thanks BillyNM. That is actually one of the four titles I have on my list to buy next. Fighting the French Revolution by Roy Harper The Armies of the First Republic, Vol 3 by Ramsay Phipps The Art of War of Revolutionary France by Paddy Griffiths A French Genocide by Reynald Secher I'm interested in the last title because I always like to see and consider other viewpoints, rather than just one side opinions. |

The front cover image on Harper's book had been haunting me and I could not understand why? But just now, while I was searching my bookshelves for some uniform info, guess what I found? Yep, it was Harper's book. So that is one title off my to buy list and perhaps more cash to spare for some more Perry miniatures! LOL |

Hi Ian I don't like spending too much time online and much prefer to have the 'real' books at hand. I have volume 2 of Phipps 5 volume set of titles and aim to get the other four, eventually, starting with Vol 3 next on the list. That goes for Paddy Griffiths and Secher's titles. I'm not in a rush and will just take my time and enjoy what I have and look forward to obtaining other titles whenever I can. Thank you for the links though, much appreciated. |
