In Heinlein's 'Space Cadet" novel, The Interplanetary Patrol wears plain, almost monastic uniforms—no braid, no medals, no theatre. Function over flourish. Authority without decoration. By contrast, the regular military branches cling to the old language of power: bright uniforms, polished insignia, and chests loaded with metal to prove what should already be obvious. Braggadocio. To the Patrol, it all looks a bit like insecurity rendered in gold thread. Their only real badge of rank is a simple ring. No parade-ground glitter, no costume drama—just quiet authority that doesn't feel the need to announce itself. Someone should tell the N. Koreans |

Both the US and Ukraine should be grateful that DPRK Generals are worth more for scrap than tactical acumen. Which one of those bling ribbons is for shameless buttocks kissing while denouncing a relative? |

It's the medals on their trousers that got me. I do understand that some/many/all? are family medals & it's a cultural practice. Respecting other cultures is good manners though I believe the N. Korean generals to be worthless toadies. I possess several medals won by deceased family members & I know I am entitled to wear them under certain conditions – you must wear family medals exclusively on the right side of the chest or jacket on approved occasions only. However, I never have,and never will. For me, it would just not seem right. |

Those that survive and make it back to Un's kingdom. Will be considered having combat experience. But overall that number will be small … |

There were/are a lot of North Koreans fighting in the Ukraine but I doubt any of these octogenarian generals were included so I doubt any of these medals were earnt. |
