Hi all. Looking for some help with some rules for the Italian Wars. Im looking for something where the basic unit is 1 base, or maybe 2 for deep pike columns. Looking to play 15mm, so maybe 3"x1.5" bases (or basing agnostic). Im looking for big battle rules as im primarily interested in starting with Ceresole & Fornovo. Easy to medium difficulty would be a bonus. Thanks for any & all tips! |

The free rule set, ‘Sans Peur et Sans Reproche' is hex-based so you can base however you like if it fits in a hex. They are aimed solely at the Italian Wars. Link to Battlegames issue with the rules: link |

Impetvs would work bases are 80mm x 30 or 40mm your preference. and you can do 2 bases like this for a deep pike block. Some of mine have three bases. |

Sam Mustafa's "Scourge of Princes" should do well. |

Baroque (renaissance Impetus), or Scourge of Princes. For King and Parliament if you want to stretch it to ECW. |

Hi Guys. Thanks much for the many kind suggestions. So Pike & Shotte was my first thought as I already own it. However since suggested unit frontage for 15mm are 7 to 9 inches i felt like reducing them to 3" might not work as the game was intended. Movement & firing ranges would have to be further reduced to about 1/2 to a third of those recommended for 15mm. Im not totally averse to this idea though. I wasnt aware (or forgot) that I.petus does Rennaissance. If im not mistaken, most of its army lists are for 1618 or later (not that i couldn't tinker with these for Ceresole at least. Ill be looking into Scourge of Princes for sure as I liked Sam's game Blucher. Thanks again. |

Baroque claims to cover 1550-1700 but not much is really covered before 1600. Troop types are 'mouldable' to earlier types but they don't have the right 'feel' for the earlier battles. |

I've played P&S in 15mm using move distances as written and it works fine |
