About a quarter century ago I began collecting minis from the Trojan Wars range by Foundry. They got put aside because the rules we were using required a simply silly number of chariots. With the advent of Midgard I can field an army without taking a second mortgage. Luckily I found my old stash as I was cleaning up/sorting through the Mountain of Shame. I decided to start small with some archers before moving on to the fancy stuff like chariots.

Those look really good! I have trouble building up enthusiasm for painting chariots. Most of my Mycenaeans sat in boxes for years, but a few years ago, I came up with a new background and have painted up most of the infantry. The background for my armies is that Agamemnon and the kings, with their 1,000 ships sailed for Troy several years ago, leaving minimal forces behind in Greece to deal with raiders. The chariots being high prestige assets mostly went overseas with the kings. This allows me to do smaller battles not dominated by chariots or the walls of Troy. Best of luck with building your armies! Grelber |
