Robin, this is a fascinating scenario based on an Ottoman operation that is not widely known. As you explore the scenario, based on experience gained during play testing, you are refining the scenario-specific rules. The most interesting aspect of this process of refinement relates to balancing how the game plays out. In essence, and what makes the process so interesting for me, the adjustments can be thought of as factors that were not necessarily present historically but if they had been present then the historical outcome would have been different potentially. It helps to understand why, in this case, the Ottoman attack failed historically. The goal of the attack was primarily political. It was hoped that the bold move through the Sinai would inspire a revolution by the Egyptian population. The British picked up the advance very early on through aerial reports and intelligence from Bedouin in the desert. Great write-up and photos. Look forward to the replay. Robert |
