Cuprum, the only war with Russia that NATO was created for was a Russian invasion of NATO countries. Go read the NATO articles. There is an article that all NATO nations are to provide military assistance to a member country if it attacked, but there are no provisions to aid another member if they are the aggressor.

The only territory of Poland that the Polish people were removed from was under Russian control as was Ukraine in 1944 and 1945. So, your statement is false. There is no Ukrainian propaganda about that time period. Go read some real history for a change.

As for the claim that it is Ukrainian propaganda about the deportations, your government is the one that provided the number of 1.5 million deported Ukrainians a couple of years ago. Ukraine and other nations cannot provide an accurate account of how many children have been separated, which is why the number is given as an estimate. At least you are acknowledging that children are being separated from their parents.

Teh European commission notes that about 20500 children have been deported and only 2100 returned. link

Russia generally prohibits Ukrainian parents from directly recovering their separated children, forcing families to rely on complex, third-party negotiations. Russia blocks systemic, independent reunification, though some children are returned on a case-by-case basis through diplomatic mediation, such as by Qatar or non-governmental organizations.

Parents face severe obstacles because Russian authorities place many deported children into local Russian adoption databases, frequently granting them Russian citizenship and integrating them with Russian families. Russia has continuously failed to provide international humanitarian organizations with comprehensive information regarding the whereabouts or legal status of the taken children. Consequently, the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Russian officials, including President Vladimir Putin, over their alleged involvement in the unlawful transfers.

Because of these barriers, individual Ukrainian parents attempting to retrieve their children must travel to Russia themselves—often at great personal risk—to locate and escort their children out of the country. To facilitate this, families frequently coordinate with the Ukrainian government's Bring Kids Back UA initiative or international charities to navigate the arduous process.

NATO became involved in Yugoslavia in 1999 during a 78-day aerial bombing campaign known as Operation Allied Force, which lasted from March 24, 1999, to June 10, 1999. The military offensive was launched during the Kosovo War in response to the ethnic cleansing and oppression of Kosovar Albanians by Serbian forces.

The actions in Libya were part of a UN sanctioned response to attacks on civilians by Qadaffi during the Arab Spring uprising.

NATO as an organization did not participate in the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq due to deep political divisions among its members. However, the alliance has since entered Iraq through a series of official non-combat advisory, capacity-building, and training missions at the direct request of the Iraqi government.

NATO intervened in Afghanistan following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. The primary objectives were to dismantle the al-Qaeda terrorist network and topple the Taliban government, which had harbored al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and provided a safe haven for international terrorists.

No one has ever said that Ukraine does not have Nazis. What has been said is that Putin's claims of Nazi's controlling Ukraine are false. The refutation of Putin's claims is not propaganda, and it is being made by objective, unaligned, reliable sources. This includes the source you cited about the Maidan rebellion. The claims of Ukraine being overrun with Nazis is false. The claims about Ukrainian Nazis is like a person claiming the moon is made of Limburger cheese. It does not matter how many times it is said, it does not make it true. Yet, you keep posting it even though time and time again reliable sources have noted that the claims of Ukrainian Nazi are false.

The USSR is not Russia. It is an equal union of several states. The USSR was led by many Ukrainians, so what does this have to do with Russians?
Lenin (1917–1924) was Russian; Stalin (1922–1953) was Georgian; Khrushchev (1953–1964) was Ukrainian; Brezhnev (1964–1982) was Ukrainian; Andropov (1982–1984) was Jewish; Chernenko (1984–1985) was Russian; Gorbachev (1985–1991) was Russian.
Maybe it's the Russians who should be making claims against the Georgians and Ukrainians?

It doesn't matter what NATO documents say. NATO has violated them repeatedly. The reasons NATO came up with to justify its crimes are irrelevant, as they had no right to do so under international law and without UN authorization. It was after this that international law became a mere fiction…

Any information coming from European sources cannot be trusted, as it is based on Ukrainian propaganda.
And in general, since there is an information war going on, no interested sources can be trusted.

Why do Poles see Nazis, but you don't? Does this ruin your comfortable worldview?

I don't see the point in continuing this argument… It's a waste of time.

The International court does not issue warrants for arrests based on Ukrainian propaganda link

Now you are again making false statements about me. When did I ever say that I do not see Nazis. I detest Nazis. My father and one of my uncles fought against Nazi Germany in WWII. What I have said is that Putin has lied about the influence of Nazis in Ukraine and that you continue to spread his lies.

NATO as an organization has never violated any of its articles, though some individual nations have been accused of doing so. Show which ones that it has. Unlike Russia, NATO as an organization has never invaded another country, though some member nations have on their own. Regarding the eastern expansion of Nato, historians and former Soviet officials, including Mikhail Gorbachev, have clarified that no formal, legally binding promise to halt expansion was ever written into the North Atlantic Treaty.

Russia on the other hand, sent troops into Hungary in 1956 and Czechoslovakia in 1968 to overthrow or suppress their governments. You have been upset that Ukrainians overthrew their pro-Russian government. Why are you not upset that Russia did the same to its allies?

The organizations that I linked to that assessing the Russian economic situation to do not rely on Ukrainian propaganda. You claim that all information from western sources is false. Many of them use independent sources instead of Ukraine.

Yes, Russia has been led by Ukrainians. So does that mean that Russia was led by Nazis since you seem to think that every Ukrainian is a Nazi, when they are a smaller fraction of the Ukrainian population than other nations, including your own? If you are going to argue a point, at least do so with honesty. Finally, if you are going to present viewpoints contrary to the original post of a forum discussion, you should stick to the original topic instead of posting matters that have no relation to the original topic.

Latest map of Russian fuel shortages
link

Cuprum207 Jul 2026 5:39 p.m. PST

William, you're overestimating the fuel shortage in Russia. Yes, it exists, and yes, it creates problems. But Russians are no less patient than Ukrainians.

In the worst case, Russia will return to fuel distribution through a centralized state system, and speculation in the fuel market will cease. In any case, this is a temporary problem. By the way, Western media are silent about Russia's massive destruction of gas stations and fuel trucks in Ukraine:

Two players can play this game))) A transport collapse in Ukraine is just around the corner.

williamb08 Jul 2026 5:11 p.m. PST

Cuprum, you need to get your facts correct)))). What makes you think that I am the one who is overestimating the Russian fuel shortages. All I am doing is posting what unaligned third parties have determined.

As for your links. The second and third report gas stations being destroyed which could make civilian fuel somewhat difficult to obtain, but having fewer fuel stations does not equal a fuel shortage just fewer places to get it. The second one is a pro-Russian unreliable news source. The first and third ones are reliable sources. Your first link says there is no disruption to fuel supplies.

The only reliable western news source that I could find is a French publication reporting on the increase in fuel station attacks with no comment on any fuel shortage.

Tango0108 Jul 2026 5:33 p.m. PST

Where are the links that report that Russia continues to bomb civilians in retaliation for the missiles against their oil facilities?

Armand

Cuprum210 Jul 2026 7:21 p.m. PST

Tango, Russia doesn't bomb civilians – if only because it's expensive and pointless))) But if Ukraine places military depots and drone assembly plants in civilian buildings – that's not our problem.

williamb, check sources from disinterested parties, not indirect participants in the conflict)))
Oil refineries and oil depots in Ukraine have long been destroyed. And periodic strikes are repeated to prevent their restoration. Ukraine relies on European fuel supplies, which are stored dispersedly, mainly in private gas station networks. This includes for use by the Ukrainian army. Until now, the Russians have largely left the gas station network alone, but now they are destroying all fuel storage and transportation facilities. The effect is barely noticeable so far, but it is cumulative…
I cited a pro-Russian source because it lists the number of gas stations destroyed.

Fuel production and storage in Ukraine 2026:

I don't understand one thing: why Russia isn't destroying the bridges across the Dnieper… That would split Ukraine in two and collapse the front… Just as I don't understand why the Beskydy Tunnel and several other (just a few) major railways and highways connecting Ukraine with Europe haven't been destroyed. I think Putin is either an idiot (unlikely) or bound by some kind of commitment… Therefore, I believe it is necessary to replace him with a more decisive leader.

Tango0110 Jul 2026 10:35 p.m. PST

Well… you can always bring Stalin back to life…

I don't understand how anyone in Russia can criticize a leader who wins elections with an overwhelming majority (!)… for consecutive terms… nor can one wish to escalate a small conflict like the "Special Military Operation"… otherwise it would seem that Russia is at war….

Armand

Cuprum210 Jul 2026 11:56 p.m. PST

Don't worry, Tango. Russia has always had plenty of strong leaders))) We'll find them.

Besides, I never voted for Putin, but if a more decisive candidate doesn't emerge, I'll have to vote for him in the next election. At least Putin finally had the courage to stand up to the West's creeping advance… It's a shame it took him and his team twenty years to realize that the West doesn't need Russia in any form other than a subordinate one…
