"Today we finally have some more pictures of the Waterloo diorama in Celle to show you. As mentioned before, the diorama consists of two parts, each measuring 5 x 6 meters. The division into two parts is intended to illustrate that they depict two different times and events of the Battle of Waterloo. One side shows the large French cavalry charge against the squares of the Anglo-Allied army, and the other half shows the French attack by d'Erlon's infantry corps. The farm La Haye Sainte in the center is present in both parts of the diorama, providing the viewer with a visual reference point and thus facilitating better orientation within the depicted section of the battlefield. A control panel with labeled buttons provides further orientation; pressing these buttons illuminates specific points and events on the diorama using LED lights. The approximately 15,000 figures used are about 28 mm tall, which corresponds to a scale of approximately 1/56. However, distances on the battlefield and the troop strength of the units have been reduced in order to depict as many events as possible…"
