I think the title is crystal clear. So, no rules. I fully expect some omodhaun amadhaun nitwit to whine grumpily "I don't follow sports!" YAWN. It has to be all about you, hainna? Go bother another Poll. Anyway. Classic example for me is Reggie Jackson. Me Da was a classic Irishman from "da Providence section o Scranton". Subway alum of Notre Dame. But he loved the Philadelphia Athletics. He blamed the Big Shots for forcing them to Kansas City, and then Oakland. He blamed the Yankees for stealing his best players. Briefly, the A's had glory years, with Reggie etc. Then the Yankees stole Reggie. That's how the Greatest Generation thought. Dad now hated Reggie. Nothing personal. He was just now a Yankee. Being a dutiful son (although I threw Notre Dame under the bus to cheer for Penn State…) I naturally hated Reggie Jackson. But, really, he was the best. |

John Elway in 1986 when he led a 98 yd drive against my Browns in the AFC Title game … denying us the chance to go to the Super Bowl. I would have nominated Art Model who moved the Browns to Baltimore in the mid-90s, but he didn't play the game -- though he did replace Elway as the most hated by most Brown's fans. |

Not really into it, that said, I'm not very fond of that Taylor Swift fellow. |

Jerry Rice. Back when the 49ers and my Giants were scuffling, seeing Jerry Rice heading downfield just made me cringe. |

Pmwalt, The Horse Faced Bast#rd From Hell is the most hated for all Browns fans player wise. Mr Ed's illegitimate son and AOC's daddy. "He whose name I will never say again", is the most hated individual. May he be rotting in Hell, in a vat of boiling orange and brown plastic, doomed to watch the last 2 minutes of both those games, not knowing the ending, for all eternity. Only the dna of his, sacrificed on Lake Erie will ever probably break the curse. Sell the team because he got himself so deeply in debt and then lying about it! Worse! The useless media believed him! A curse on his family! |

Well, none. Because I'd have to HAVE a team, or otherwise be interested in athletics. (NOTE TO BILL: Yes I AM serious, and I expect "not interested" to show up a a poll option. You have a little trouble with that sort of thing.) |

Troy Aikman. Generally seemed a nice guy and a good player but, he played for the evil incarnate Dallas Cowboys and their owner Skeletor. As an Eagles fan from birth, I wanted to hate Tom Landry but he was simply too classy to hate. My wife continues to hate Bob Irsay even while he remains very dead. Moving a team in the middle of the night was vile on a special level and since Bob is long toes up, she simply wishes ill on all Colts at all times. |

Never hated a player for not being on "my" team— not even Commies in the ‘80s Olympics! But I did dislike players for things they personally did or said, no matter what team they were on. I did, however, "hate" whole teams, regardless of who their players were (like Commies in the ‘80s!) |

Oh, I have always hated Alabama. But I do think that Saban should become the Commissioner of "College" football. I was all set to hate Texas Tech because of the Gambler, but they caved and slipped back into well deserved also-ran anonymity. |

As for players, I hated Ben Roethlisberger, because early on he was a scummy person. And he was on my Steelers! Now he's gone, and good riddance. |
