I am doing Warrant British for early American Revolution. What color is the GR on the back of the packs?

The "GR" (Georgius Rex) painted on the back of the knapsack is, I believe, most commonly depicted in white. The crown above it is also usually painted white.

That said, there was no absolute army-wide regulation for the colour of these markings.

For 'Full Disclosure' I'm basing this on Napoleonic British but I think I'm correct…..

I know the Napoleonic ones are white. Some with just the regiments number, wasn't sure about the AWI. White is my default color.

I asked Open AI and it says they were black. I found it unlikely but then I remembered this painting by Howard Pyle.

Apparently the correct term is Knapsack which I always thought was separate from a knapsack and I was wrong but I did suspect it to be the case. Always learning.
