Through no fault of my own 😄🤷😄 I find myself in possession of, in technical terms, a whole bunch of Austrian figures.
Coincidentally, I have a bunch of Hessian and Brunswick units.

What I'm looking for is rules that will work on the Frontiers. The Kleine Krieg.
I like to think that basing 3 infantry figures on 2"x1" bases with 5 or 6 stands per regiment looks fine. That's 15-18 figures. Grenzers and Freikorps can go on 2"x1-1/2" bases, 3 figures. This will hint that they are…. wild and crazy guys who can skirmish.
Jaegers and the like can go on the 2"x1" stands, with 2 figures.
Cavalry use the 2"x1" stands, sideways.

We have used "Warfare in the Age of Reason" rules for years, with 15mm figures.

What other SIMPLE rules are out there?
I do not like rules like Black Powder with the silly disruption points. Nor Empire (flow charts! 😱) with its infinite number of morale classes. I don't think anything is gained by shoveling complexity on it.

If you recommend a different set of rules, please tell me why. Like you're selling it to me.

Rebels and Patriots.

Simple enough to modify for the theater.

Units of 12 or 6 figures.

R&P also let's you designate units as 'large' and they are 18 figures strong.

John – I am (quelle surprise!) a fan of our home grown SYW rules. They are really for larger battles but can handle Grenz etc.

They are 'bucket of dice' rules, which I'm not sure you'd like. I could send you a copy, if you'd like.

I'm afraid I'll have to pass. My candidates would involve rebasing individually, and even I don't think it's worth the effort. Haven't played R&P, but I've played others with the same basic system and it works well.
