Impressive collection of figures and terrain. I regret I moved into WW2 (late war NW Europe) several years ago instead of picking up on an under rated period like the SCW. Richard: what has surprised you most about gaming the period—does it play very differently from the more familiar WW2 rule sets, or are the differences mainly in flavour and army composition? |

Colour and flavour is the main difference to WW2. SCW is more like WW1, far less equipment, far more about men than machines. We tend to fight actions with no more than a battalion or so on the table, so single platoons or companies can make themselves seen by their actions (allows for a little roleplaying and faction based gaming). |
