The recent 'round the moon voyage by Artemis II spurred my particular TMP Poll Suggestion question.

I fondly remember the old NASA moonshot missions under the Apollo program 50+ years ago (!!!). IMHO, had it not been for the advent of the Space Shuttle program, it's a possibility that the United States could have established the genesis of a lunar base; whether it would have been maintained, let alone manned per mission for the long run, would be an entirely different subject altogether.

So, do we have the proverbial "right stuff" to attempt such a feat this time?

We have the technological capability. The rest is a matter of human will and cost/benefit.

Okay if I say 'yes, but…?'

Well, stumbles all around at the moment, and they are worrying.

Moonbase? Habitat seems likely, permanently inhabited, not so much for the foreseeable.
