As the Count said, "I do not drink … wine."

What's a "wine cooler"? Is it some type of drink?

Grok says:

A wine cooler (equipment) is a specialized refrigeration appliance designed to store and chill wine bottles at optimal temperatures.

It's essentially a wine refrigerator (the two terms are often used interchangeably). Unlike a regular kitchen fridge, a wine cooler is built specifically for wine:

Key Features:

Precise temperature control — Usually between 5°C to 18°C (41°F to 65°F). Many models have dual zones so you can store reds (around 12–18°C) and whites/rosé (around 5–12°C) at different temperatures.

Low vibration — Uses compressors or thermoelectric systems that minimize vibration (which can disturb the sediment in wine).

Proper humidity — Maintains 50–80% humidity to keep corks moist and prevent them from drying out.

UV-protected glass door — Blocks harmful light that can damage wine.

Horizontal storage — Racks are designed to keep bottles lying on their side.

Can be either, the 'mixed drink' came to my mind first. With a sense of horror…

Though, half a century ago, I did enjoy an occasional sangria.

I used to only drink wine at room temperature, during the winter, when I kept the thermostat at 55F. I've gotten a bit more fragile.

Also, I used to have one drink per day at that stage(couple of decades ago) in my life, and never had a second. I have cut that by more than half.

Wine fridge? I'm lucky I allow myself a Mr Coffee.

No!

Only chilled Fanta served gradually reaching room temperature.

I was thinking along TheBeast's lines. So a fridge?

Before we get to Stone Mountain's next fantasy, I also lack a butler or valet to serve the drinks, or even a scantily-clad French maid to set up the table for the game.

RP, yes, I largely dispensed with my domestic staff, only keeping my Gentleman's Gentleman.

(great post, BTW -it had me laugh out loud).

Thank you, Ochoin. Yes, we all need a Jeeves or a Bunter. A glimpse at almost any game room shows how much.

I have large enough independent spaces in my house that I do not have the wine chiller in the same room. That is in our dining room.
