It would seem arms sales are paused to Taiwan due to the consumption of ordinance in Iran. This seems plausible because we have expended more missiles in the defense of Israel than Israel has expended. I believe we are down to 200 THAAD interceptors left in our arsenal.

I had heard the usa had more munitions now than when the Iran war started. That came from a senior government official.

Now Prince, that is not what the Sec of Defense says. He says we have tons of stuff left.

A THAAD interceptor weighs 900kg, so three would be 'tons'. Deleted by Moderator

Deleted by Moderator Be that as it may. Does anyone think the US or anyone is going to say they are short of ammo or even have too much ammo ?

Hyperbole ? In reality no one save those who need to know have any idea what the supply status is of any Class of Supply.

Again, as stated above by Cao, a pause was implemented to ensure they have enough for Iran operations. Unless of course this was something else, something more political as a result of meetings with Xi.

Again, there is precedent, as Hegseth previously halted weapons shipments to Ukraine citing a need to evaluate U.S. military stockpiles and ensure aid aligns with an "America First" agenda.

Obviously "if true", the administration feels Iran poses a my current and present danger than does an invasion of Taiwan.

They have the intel, unlike those of us on TMP or in the media (even with "unnamed sources").

Some may disagree, but we are not in charge.

But:

"No country provides direct financial military aid (such as grants or direct weapons giveaways) to Taiwan on the scale of the United States. However, several nations maintain unofficial security partnerships, technology exchanges, and commercial arms sales with Taiwan."

So if other countries are that concerned, now would be the time to show up. US can't and should not be expected to do it all, IMHO.

Cao made these comments about the pause in a congressional hearing this past Thursday. That is a matter of record. Taiwan officials have stated that they haven't been notified of any delays. Perhaps Cao misspoke. Other senior official "sources" said that sales to Taiwan are "unrelated to Operation Epic Fury" and that The United States military has more than enough munitions, ammo, and stockpiles to serve all of President Trump's strategic goals and beyond."

Prince, sorry not questioning your source. Questioning the potential rational as to why they were delayed.

Many possible reasons.

OVI +1

The later seems more likely than the first statement, IMO …

Truth is no one needs to know. While the conflict is ongoing.

Maybe … Keeping the enemy guessing is only part of OPSEC, disinformation, obfuscation, etc.

Keep the enemy guessing. It keeps them off balance, etc.

We find out after a conflict is over many things we were not told. For obvious reasons … Plus for many decades afterwards or longer or even never. Many operations, methods, sources, etc. remain classified, etc.

We won't know the truth until … ?
