From 1905 through 1908 twelve Tribal-class destroyers were built for the Royal Navy. The emphasis of the design was speed, they were able to make 33 knots on a displacement of slightly under 1,000 tons. Their speed came at the expense of endurance, their machinery was inefficient and fuel oil bunkerage was limited…
