I am primarily concerned wit assembling the figures with switchable heads and bodies and limbs. need to be able to stand up to handling, obviously, and will be painted with acrylics and then dipped in minwax to protect.

The old plastic models glue we used to not sniff?

epoxy?

Super Glue?

Yep, the super glues for printed resin parts.

My resin figures were assembled with Gorilla super glue, and were painted with Vallejo, Army Painter, and Citadel paints. No casualties, breakage, and no paint chipping or wear

"Old plastic model" you lied about to your parents ONLY works on old styrene plastic.
For the rest, I'll leave it to people who actually use 3D print figures.

Typically I use the Gorilla super glue as well. You can also use a little uncured resin, but you'll need to have a UV light or take it out in the sun to cure.

This is also a case I can verify that you MUST clean the models after they're cured. (This is after the cleaning with alcohol and curing). I've found there is still a fair amount of residue on the models, but usually an old tooth brush and soap work fairly well. I've had to clean them at least once, sometimes twice this way.

Yes, I do wash them thoroughly.

And Gorilla Glue is my standard now, so good to go.

I use LocTite super gel. Really grabs for me. Black and blue plastic squeeze bottle.

I just use superglue or UHU. Partly depends what I'm sticking together, size wise.
