"Snapmaker U1" Topic

My personal dream comes true. Ready painted armys out of the printer.

A wonderful mashine. Itīs not a real color printer, but with 4 simultan filament rolls, managed by 4 toolheads, is faster than any mashine with AMS.

I thought by myself, due I am not happy to paint 6mm Figures or Epic Scale figures, tried to print them in four colors.
Only job is to put color to face and hands, a metal finish on muskets and perhaps a sepia wash at the end. Here I use Acrylic painter, saves to use brush and paintbottles.

I use standard filament red,blue,black and a dark white tone.
The figures I painted directly in slicer software Orca. I used standard nozzle 0.4. No tweaking of settings. Only set the layerhigh to 0.08.

I do this only on the Epic scale figures, for 6mm my old eyes will forgive that in gaming distance, that I did not put the additional color on the figures.

To have over night ready painted bataillions, nice thing.

BTW.: the figures are from nice ranges of Turner Miniatures.

Next batch French and British. As reference I put Warlord Epic Scale figures beside them.

Next, nearly 6mm. Very useful that you can print the flags with the figures.

Also 15mm buildings are possible. Or for example tank in 15mm. We should not discuss the paint schmeme and color choosing. I used the colors, loaded in printer.

Nice work! That Snapmaker is really the only way to do it. I have a 4 color printer and have stopped using that part as it wastes so much. Having 4 printheads is the way to go!

I wanted to depict a French battalion at its original strength, and what could be better than the beautiful Turner miniatures, which we then print using our four-color technique?

To bring out the details a bit better, I decided to scale the figures up accordingly. I'm now using 9.5 mm figures, which isn't a standard scale, but since I'm only using these figures, I can freely choose the size.

For comparison, I've placed the 6 mm figures next to my 9.5 mm figures.

The battalion, of course, doesn't exactly correspond to the specifications, such as those for the Battle of Waterloo.
I've decided to depict a section of 60 figures; two sections make a company, and six companies make a battalion.

Naturally, the sergeants, lieutenants, and officers are missing. I've only created the small flag group, and the rest are simply marching figures. I also do not create beside the 4 line company, a grenadier and voltigeur company.

To give you an idea of ​​the size of such a battalion at near-original strength, it's quite impressive to see.
