As a slight diversion from my usual painting routine, I have recently finished work on a couple of French Infantry units for a friend and for an upcoming game in June based on the Battle of Sainte-Foy fought on the approaches to Quebec on April 28th 1760.

The additions include Infantry Regiments La Reine and Royal Roussillon and an officer from the Compagnies Franches de la Marine.

In addition I also managed to squeeze in a warm-up game with the rest of the collection as I and friends play tested the scenario in preparation for our up coming game.

Very nice. A French-Indian victory often forgotten, after which everyone waited to see which ships came first up the St. Lawrence?

Hi and thank you.

Yes indeed. I first visited Quebec and the Plains of Abraham way back in 1988, oblivious at that time that Sainte-Foy had been fought just down the road, so to speak. I really must find an excuse for a return visit.

You probably know it already, but 'Backs to the Wall' by D. Peter MacLeod is the bible on that battle. His 'Northern Armageddon' preceded it, telling the story of the Plains of Abraham.
