Today we returned to our first game, when we were introduced to Midgard. I wanted to try some new stats for the Numidian cavalry! If you want to see who won, please go to this link
Enjoy! |

What did you feel went wrong with your stats for the Numidians? They did seem to be hampered by the edge of the world… |

Herky – there are people who talk about wargaming & people who do it. You're in the right camp. I enjoyed your AAR. |

The stats failed in 2 ways: 'Marksman' made them too efficient, and took away the special feel of the Balearic slingers. My 'Swift' custom trait never got properly tested, but I noticed when facing the Numidians, I felt I would be unable to contact them, where with 1/3 chance of catching them I was willing to try. – it just felt too brutal for Midgard. After a post game chat we thought a better solution would be to do one of 2 things: Lawrence suggested ditching the only one evade move rule, and allowing an evade move during a second charge by a unit. I thought a better way would simply to say a unit's move ends after an attempt to charge a unit, if that unit evades out of reach. This could act to slow a unit when facing skirmishers, which I feel historical. |

I think your Numidian horse performed as they should. They were good; look how Carthage performed after they switched allegiance to Rome. I think that was a good battle. Cheers Jon |
