Taking a bit of an inspiration from John's Motown Poll, what about Stax/Volt ?

What a label – and if I'm honest (which I am) I have a preference for the Stax/Volt output over Motown anyway. Nothing against Motown, but they did not have:

@20th
Joe Chambers' Musicians Hall of Fame channel is a fantastic rabbit hole.
Stories from Back in the Day, when hundreds of disc jockeys decided what went out over the air. 👍
Now we have only 3 or 4 companies that own the radio stations.
And the results are predictable.

Blues Brothers!

And Punching the air on "Time is Tight".

Programmed radio with no or just some celebrity DJ has really destroyed radio as a channel to new music.

Yeah, you can find it all on the internet but having a trusted custodian of the sounds who you could rely on to bring you stuff you'd like and maybe challenge you occasionally was a great thing. Especially if you happen to be driving or working manually.

Yeah, a blessing on the Blues Brothers who saved so many people from sliding into obscurity.
