The Battle of Cunaxa 401 BC, Battle Day In The North, Society of Ancients- A visual Walkthrough hi folks, I'm afraid i didn't have the time to do a full write up of the extension of the SOA Battle Day; the Society of Ancients, Battle Day in the North due to quite extreme pressures of late. I did however take a heck of a lot of photos on the day. Please feel free to pop over to my blog for more visual stimulation! :D justaddwater-bedford.blogspot.com/2026/04/the-battle-of-cunuxa-401-bc-battle-day.html Tasters…..

Thanks for the pictures. Always like looking at other people's collections. A few thoughts. 1. It is interesting to me that pretty much all the rules used were "boutique" in nature (I'd even put DBA in this category.) None of the current, popular mass battle rules sets were in evidence (ADLG, Hail Caesar, MeG, Impetus etc.) 2. I have migrated to large dioramic bases that are used in Impetus and Sword and Spear. Figures look so much better based that way than DBx or single bases in trays. 3. While I admire smaller scales there does seem to be a limit to how far down one can go. Looking at the Strength and Honour game one might as well play with large counters. |
