I was reminded this morning that the date of certain battles depends on which calendar the combatants were using at the time. E.G the battle of Blenheim is dated 2nd August by the British who were still suing the julian calendar but 13th by the Germans and French who had moved on to the Gregorian. Since we now use the Gregorian in Britain, should we have moved the date.

I don't see why. The Russians didn't rename any of their revolutions when they went Gregorian, and the French still have a bunch of events named after their Revolutionary calendar.
