Got in a small battle using Crusader's Rate of Fire yesterday afternoon. My 1/72 Soviets and Germans make onto a a tabletop for the first time in years. Check out the AAR on my blog here link Thanks for checking it out! |

Nice! Looks like a lot of Airfix on that table. How do you like the rules? Thanks. John |

Great write up, reminds me of the battle of Roseiniai. I think you balanced the sides well. I, too am curious about the rules. |

I've used ROF since 2013. I liked Chain of Command but there were parks of it I didn't care for. Bolt Action is just not my cuppa at all. No judgement please, but ROF reminds me a lot of WH40K 2nd edition, by which I mean a good level of nitty-gritty, particularly with AFVs, simple d6 base mechanics and it easily handles a "just right" level of troops – a reinforced platoon per side is right in it's wheelhouse. Turn / Phase order is more modern than the old 40K IGOUGO. And the best part about it is that nationalities don't have the Bolt Action-style interminable list of special rules. It's a ruleset more focused on producing a solid game than selling books and miniatures. Certainly worth checking out given the low cost of admission. |
